About

Sakha is a dedicated organization whose strengths lie in its workers. The women who earn entirely based on their skills are the pride of Sakha. One of Sakha's biggest strengths is the passion and determination of the founder. Mrs. Chugh's perseverance and hard work shows the progress of Sakha as a non-profit. Mrs. Chugh doesn't give up and pushes through, even during the most challenging times. However, Sakha's current challange is the need for a marketing team to promote its products. In India, people don't value hand-made products. They find them too expensive. It takes more time to make them. Machines are used for mass production and can possibly make hundreds of pieces in the time a craftsman finishes one product. There is a lot of buzz about “buying local” these days. Reducing your carbon footprint and supporting local artisans are good for the environment and good for everyone.
Artisans and makers infuse love and energy into each piece of work. There is huge value in supporting locals from a sustainability and energetic standpoint. Our toys are 200% safe for infants as we don't use plastic at all. Sakha is very opportune as they are in a market where handmade goods are novel and treasured. Sakha is getting acknowledged by many fashion magazines and influencers throughout social media. Sakha recently got an excellent opportunity to work with Noki Simbani, Ms. Universe Great Britain 2022. With winter getting shorter due to climate change, Sakha's winter products are selling at a different pace than they used to. Along with this, people would instead have customized products than the premade products Sakha sells.

How it All Began…

The backbone of Sakha is its hardworking, determined workers. Women use their knitting skills to have an income-based solely on their abilities. Clients have often expressed great satisfaction with their received products. The women have created a community that is comfortable and welcoming. The founder of Sakha has created a safe space for these hardworking women who lost their jobs due to COVID-19. The women have also expressed their love for the working environment and look forward to coming to work every day. Mrs. Chugh’s friends act as a defacto marketing team and spread the news about Sakha between friends and family.

Along with this, a distinguishing factor about Sakha is the fact that it is a dual-purpose organization. It has two purposes: female empowerment and animal care. Sakha is a brand that brings joy to every home it graces; its delicate handmade products are unique and crafted with love. Sakha interacts with clients to ensure customer satisfaction.

Our Pinky Promise

Sakha can count on continuing to better their cause, help women earn by themselves, and, at the same time, help the condition of animals in India. Sakha has always been keen on helping society and its people. Sakha had started during COVID -19. Early on during lockdown, Mrs. Chugh would hear hungry dogs howling at night. Hearing their helpless cries she wanted to help. She would wake up early in the morning and prepare food for these dogs daily. She started feeding all stray dogs initially in a 5 km radius and later 10km. During this process, she met people who empathized with her and appreciated her hard work. She was soon introduced to some women in the village of Nithari. Hearing stories of how these women lost their jobs and how they struggled to provide food for their families Mrs. Chugh decided she wanted to help. Thus motivated by her desire to help these women, she started Sakha Ek Pehel: a dual-purpose
non-profit organization that focuses on animal welfare and women empowerment. Now she is a successful entrepreneur and a role model for girls everywhere.

She is demonstrating charity with dignity. And as she loves stray animals and she feels that asking for donations is not a way always if you love them. They are your responsibility so she created this venture to support them too.
